Marshall Rosenberg on Nonviolent Communication

by howtolivehappily on March 27th, 2011

Are you frustrated by the multitude of fools and evil people around you?

Or maybe even worse, you consider yourself to be one of them?

Are you filled with anger?

Then pay close attention to what’s coming here. This will give you the tools you need to eradicate insult, rejection and anger from your life.

I’m NOT saying that it’s gonna be easy. Actually, I just neglected the principles – and got the consequences of neglecting them. Nothing serious – just an argument on an internet board. But it came to show me how deeply rooted my faulty thinking is. Change won’t be easy – but I’ll do my best.

I suggest that you do the same. Watch those videos as many times as you have to, and then try to apply what you learn. If enough people do, maybe one day there will be no wars. Be a part of the change!

This is going to be a long post with a lot of information. Here’s what it contains:

  1. Nonviolent Communication – Marshall Rosenberg
    Part 1 (9:36), Part 2 (5:48), Part 3 (4:26)
Gives an introduction to the concept of NVC, a historical context, as well as some examples involving peace negotiation. It also addresses the topic of “mental illness” being caused by faulty thinking.
  2. Nonviolent Communication – An Introduction by Harlan Johnson (10:04)
A presentation summarizing the basic principles of nonviolent communication.
  3. The Basics of Nonviolent Communication
    Part 1.1Part 1.2Part 1.3Part 1.4Part 1.5Part 1.6,
    Part 2.1, Part 2.2, Part 2.3, Part 2.4, Part 2.5,
    Part 3.1, Part 3.2Part 3.3Part 3.4Part 3.5Part 3.6,
    Part 4.1, Part 4.2Part 4.3Part 4.4Part 4.5
The actual meat of the program. You can skip the rest, but make sure to watch this part many times and let it seep in. Actually applying this stuff is not easy at all (at least not to me) , so it will require your dedication.
  4. Nonviolent Communication and Corporations
    Part 1 (28:33), Part 2 (28:59), Part 3 (26:33)
Join Paula Gloria on her Manhattan Neighborhood Network Public Access TV show, “Farther Down the Rabbit Hole” with Marshall Rosenberg creator of a process called “Nonviolent Communication” which holds a promise to bring world peace on all levels, individual and global.
